What is the cancellation policy?
CANCELLATION BY NAON: If for any reason beyond NAON’s control NAON determines that the event must be cancelled, shortened, delayed, dates changed, or otherwise altered or changed, participant understands that any registration fees paid for the Reno event will be automatically transferred to the virtual experience. Participant also understands and agrees that NAON shall refund the difference of the registration fees paid from in-person to virtual. Participants understand that it may lose all monies it has paid to attend the Congress for expenses it has incurred, including travel, lodging, etc.
CANCELLATION BY INDIVIDUAL: If you are registered to attend the in-person Congress and can no longer attend, please submit your request in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org. Cancellations received on or before March 21, 2022, will receive a full refund less a $200 processing fee. No refunds will be issued for requests received after March 21, 2022. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to email@example.com. All refunds will be processed in approximately two weeks.
How do I change from the virtual experience to the Reno event or vice versa?
If for any reason (including illness) you would like to change your attendance from in-person to virtual, your registration will be converted at no cost. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to assist in updating your registration.
If the event shifts to a fully virtual event, all registrations will be converted to virtual attendee registration, and the cancellation policy will apply to any termination requests.
If I register to attend the meeting in person, will I also have access to online content?
Attendees planning to join us in Reno also receive complimentary access to the virtual platform. This access is automatically included with the in-person registration fee.
Logging into the Virtual Platform and Mobile App
How do I log in and access the virtual platform?
You should have received an email on Tuesday, May 10 with personalized instructions for how to log in to the virtual event platform, Pathable, with the subject line: “NAON 42nd Annual Congress Virtual Platform Information”

I'm trying to log in but my account is not active.
If you sign up on the day of the event, it may take up to one hour for your account to be activated. You should receive an email with your authentication link to give you access to the site, where you'll be able to set up your profile and password. We strongly recommend setting up your account and profile before the event.
I lost my login information, can you help me access the platform?
You can access the platform by clicking here, entering your email and password then clicking “sign in.” If you cannot remember your password, please click the “Forgot your password” button under the sign in button. If you are still having problem accessing the virtual event platform, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
What is the link to the virtual event platform?
How do I download the mobile app?
The mobile app is intended for in person attendees to use during their time in Reno. Once you have created your NAON Pathable account online, search for “NAON Congress” in your device’s app store. Enter your login credentials from Pathable, or go back to the original invite email you received and click the “Create my Account” button from your mobile device. Your device will automatically log you in.
What is the difference between the virtual platform and the mobile app?
Both the virtual platform and mobile app offer access to the schedule, ability to build out your own schedule, visit the virtual Exhibit Hall, view posters and more. However, the mobile app is intended for Reno attendees to access the most up to date information throughout the day. After Congress, the virtual platform will be where you go to access the select on-demand sessions and all Congress posters for viewing.
General Information: In-Person Meeting
What is included in my registration to attend in Reno?
Those who register to join us in person in Reno will have the ability to attend the Opening and Closing keynotes, all five general sessions, as well as their choice of one concurrent breakout session per timeslot. Pre-Congress workshops will also be available for an additional registration fee. In addition, Reno attendees will be able to visit the physical Exhibit Hall and poster presentations and experience unique, socially distanced networking opportunities with other in-person attendees.
Following the conclusion of the event, all Reno attendees will also have the opportunity to view select concurrent sessions on-demand, through the virtual platform until August 25, 2022.
What safety and infection control guidelines will be in place?
NAON supports the creation of a safe and healthy environment and encourages all attendees to act in the best interest of themselves and others when making the decision to join us in Reno. At this time, we will not be requiring any proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test in order to attend the Congress event. However, in line with the recommendations of the American Nursing Association (ANA) that all nurses be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, we strongly encourage all attendees to get vaccinated if they have not already prior to arriving in Reno.
NAON will follow the guidelines set by the state of Nevada and the city of Reno in regards to masks and face coverings. Currently, the state of Nevada and the city of Reno do not require masks indoors, however NAON welcomes anyone who wishes to wear a mask throughout the event to do so, and fully supports the choices of all of our attendees.
General Information: Virtual Experience
Are the dates of the virtual experience the same as the in-person event dates?
Yes, all livestreamed sessions will take place May 21-24, 2022, and virtual participants will have the opportunity to view livestreamed sessions and the on-demand concurrent sessions on the virtual platform until August 25, 2022.
What is included in the virtual experience registration?
Those who register to join us for the virtual experience will have the ability to attend all General Sessions, Keynote Presentations, and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. In addition, virtual attendees will be able to visit the virtual Exhibit Hall and virtual poster presentations. Following the conclusion of the event, all virtual attendees will also have the opportunity to view select concurrent sessions on-demand, through the virtual platform until August 25, 2022
How long is virtual content available? What do I do if I miss a live session?
Virtual Congress content will be available to all attendees via the virtual meeting platform until August 25, 2022.
What system is the 42nd Annual Congress virtual experience using?
NAON has partnered with a premier virtual conference platform, Pathable, to host this year’s Annual Congress virtual experience.
What internet browser is recommended?
For the best user experience, we recommend using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Due to limitations within Zoom, attendees in Safari, Firefox or other browsers may experience audio issues.
NAON does recommend that you use the desktop platform for all live streaming of any education sessions due to bandwidth issues that may occur with your phone.
What is the time zone for those attending the live virtual experience?
The Congress schedule at a glance is posted in Pacific Time. This aligns with the time zone of the in-person meeting. Please note, in the virtual experience platform, you will have the opportunity to view your personal schedule in your preferred time zone.
Can I chat with a specific attendee or speaker?
During livestream sessions, you will have access to chat with other virtual attendees. Each session will have someone monitoring the chat for questions. Please note that you may send a message in the chat while viewing sessions on demand, but no staff or speakers will be actively monitoring messages after the close of Congress.
You can also connect with other virtual Congress attendees and speakers by sending them a direct message on the virtual platform. To do so, navigate to the Attendees tab within the platform and find the attendee or speaker that you’d like to connect with. Click on their profile and then “Send Message.” They will receive a notification that they’ve received a message from you.
Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Credits
How many CNE credits will be available for Congress?
All attendees who join us in Reno can earn up to 55 Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) hours for all Reno sessions, Pre-Congress workshops, and select on-demand sessions.
All virtual attendees can earn up to 36.5 Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) hours for all livestreamed and select on-demand sessions.
If you attended a session live in Reno or virtually and claimed CNE, you cannot claim CNE a second time for viewing that same session as on-demand content.
Will I be able to view sessions live and on-demand during the event?
You will be able to attend livestreamed sessions during Congress as they happen. You will also be able to view those sessions in the platform on-demand after Congress through August 25, 2022. Make sure to evaluate all of the sessions you attended by the evaluation close on August 31, 2022.
When will on-demand Congress content be made available?
NAON will offer all select livestreamed sessions and select breakout sessions June 1 - August 25, 2022. You will use your same log in and view content in the platform as you did during the live event. Please note you may only claim CNE for a session once in either event evaluation.
Where do I find my Evaluation and Certificate?
To access your evaluation and certificate:
- Log into the NAON website (www.orthonurse.org) – If you do not know your password click the Username and/or Password Help link (be sure to check your junk/spam folder for the email).
- Hover over the Events tab, and then select Evaluations and Certificates.
- Under the NAON Annual Congress heading, you will see a section for 2022 Congress Evaluations.
- Click the blue link(s) to access the evaluations page(s) that are available.
- Read the instructions and click Continue to the evaluation.
- Complete the Demographic and Session Evaluations, (Posters are listed under the Session Evaluation button) as you view sessions. For completion, these tabs are sequential and each section needs to be completed before you may progress. Complete the Overall Evaluation when you have finished viewing sessions for NAON’s 42nd Congress. Once complete you may submit for your Certificate to save and/or print.
PLEASE NOTE: Do not print your certificate until after completing all session evaluations for all that you have attended in the 2022 NAON Virtual Annual Congress.
How do I make sure all of my credits are captured on my transcript?
NAON recommends that you wait to claim, download/print your CNE certificate until after you have evaluated all sessions that you have attended at the 42nd Annual Congress and through on demand sessions. This will ensure that the correct CNE amount is on your transcript.
Why can’t I print my certificate?
Evaluations are sequential and you must complete each section before advancing to the next. You will not be able to complete a session evaluation until after those sessions have occurred live. Once you've completed all session evaluations, you will be able to complete the overall evaluation and then claim your certificate. You will not be able to complete the Overall evaluation section until the last day of Congress and throughout the summer for the on demand viewing.
When will I receive my CNE certificate?
NAON recommends you print your CNE Certificate once you have completed viewing and evaluating all sessions for the 42nd Congress that you intend. The deadline to evaluate is August 31, 2022.
Congress After Dark: On-Demand Sessions
What content is available on-demand as a recording?
Poster sessions and select educational sessions from the conference will be recorded and available to all registered attendees to view on the virtual event platform through August 25, 2022.
How do I access the session recordings?
The session recordings are available within the virtual event platform. Select the session title from the agenda to enter into that session. Video recordings and the session chat are available within this section. Please select the “Play” arrow button on the page. The handout materials are located under the “Files” tab on the specific session page.
