2. Implement relevant and appropriate evidence-based practices in the clinical setting to improve outcomes in orthopaedic patient populations.

Join fellow Orthopaedic colleagues in a special activity celebrating International Orthopaedic Nurses Day. This special day is celebrated by the orthopaedic nurses around the world on October 30. This celebration was initiated in 1990 with legislation presented by Senator Carl Levin to then-President George H. W. Bush. The first celebration was held in Michigan and quickly spread across America, and then to an international level beginning in 2001. The United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Canada and Malta have joined the annual celebrations to acknowledge the impact of orthopaedic nursing around the world.

Through the voices of four NAON Orthopaedic nurses, this webinar will explore their experiences and commitment to a specialty that promotes the highest standards of nursing practice through practice, education and research. They will discuss their lives and careers as orthopaedic nurses and reflect on the past, present and future. Attendees will be encouraged to share their experiences and suggestions related to their own careers and enhancing professional development.

Education Outcome: At least 50% of participants will report that the session provided information that would cause change(s) in the practice and/or professional environment
